Part 2: When Everything Falls Apart
When Everything Falls Apart
No one prepares you for what comes after the moment everything changes.
It’s not just the situation—it’s what it does to your heart, your thoughts, and your identity.
The Emotional Whiplash
There’s shock, confusion, and disbelief. There’s anger, bitterness, and sadness. You replay everything in your head, trying to make sense of it.
The Questions
- How did I not see this?
- Was any of it real?
- What do I do now?
- Was I not enough?
- Why didn’t he love me?
And the big question: Who Am I Now?
For most of my life, I had been trying to be who I thought others wanted me to be….Needed me to be. I made choices based on expectations, approval, and the desire to feel loved. Doing what was expected in order to please others and keep the peace. I know…..very codependent thinking. But I didn’t know that then. I didn’t even know that word.
I just knew how to survive. Going through the motions. Showing up. Holding it together.
Survival Mode
There were days when just getting through was enough.
Going through the motions. Showing up. Holding it together.
“This stage isn’t failure. It’s a necessary unraveling. Before God rebuilds, He gently exposes what isn’t solid.”
If you feel lost right now…
If you feel like you don’t recognize your own life…
You are not alone.
God is not absent in this place. He is present in the breaking.
